New Year’s Smash Review 12/29/2021 - Inside The Basement of The Zubes

You know, if the drink wasn't excellent, it would just be Remy.
The Sword & Shield are back, and I for one am thankful as can be. AEW Dynamite says goodbye to 2021 and goodbye to TNT with a wave 'em home show from Daily's Place, which I would be fine with never seeing another match in for as long as I shall live.
There's a lot of extended tag action this week, with FTR & HFO teaming against Lucha Brothers and Jurassic Express, 2point0 against Eddie & PNP. and the Undisputed Era (do they have a new name yet I should look this up) taking on the full power of Best Friends. Plus, the future of Big Babyface Wardlow continues to be hinted at, and Jade Cargill faces a big test against Thunder Rosa.
Plus a couple promos here and there, but hell, between you, me, and a couple glasses of the St. Remy, who can remember. Luckily we have this recording to all remember together. I think they talked about Hook at least once.

Winter Is Coming Review 12/15/2021 - Live On Broadway

RIP to Stephen Sondheim but I'm different...
It's another special edition of AEW Dynamite, as the end-of-year celebration schedule kicks into action with a massive Winter Is Coming event on Wednesday in Texas.
On this one, Bryan Danielson and the champion Adam Hangman Page have a show-opening full hour long match for the title. Another major addition to a crazy run of matches for Danielson and an early reign-defining match for Page to start off his time at the top. The Sword & Shield dig into this one a bunch of different ways, to give it the respect it deserves as another mammoth show-opener than went the distance and then some.
Plus, The Superkliq (and Bobby Fish) tease a holiday surprise next week, The House of Black appears to add a King, Wardlow picks up a W, Serena Deeb and Shida make it a trilogy, Griff Garrison fires up, and MJF goes for a 3-peat of the Dynamite Diamond Ring in the main event against Dante Martin.

Dynamite Review 12/08/2021 w/ Murder Bryan - MJF Homecoming King

I was actually too shy to join an Acapella group.
The Sword & Shield of Professional Wrestling, Josh C and The Zubes are back for another week of AEW Dynamite, this time with special guest "Murder" Bryan Quinby from Street Fight Radio.
This week's show is in Long Island, New York, home of MJF. This hometown show for the company's most prominent heel starts off with CM Punk flipping the alignment for the night, leading to MJF showing off on his high school football field and clinching a spot in the Dynamite Diamond match next week.
Elsewhere on the card, Jurassic Express, The Acclaimed, The Varsity Blondes, and 2point0 have an eight man tag in some alignment, Best Friends get a big boost after their match with The Young Bucks, Cody informs Sammy he'll be taking the TNT Title open challenge, Jamie Hayter takes on Riho, Taz SENDS HOOK to a debut on Friday. Malakai Black goes to the spit mist, and Bryan Danielson kicks in another Dark Order head against Jonathan Hungry in the main event.
Winter is coming. Next week, bud!

Dynamite Review 12/01/2021 - Flaming Tables Of Rhodes

Am I crazy or is that a LOT of fire?
The Sword & Shield of Professional Wrestling, Josh C and The Zubes are back for another week to review a flaming hot edition of AEW Dynamite.
There was a ton to like in the ring tonight, as Bryan Danielson's reign of skull stomping continued against the Dark Order and a show of promise from Vlan Vngels. Then CM Punk's feud with MJF continued with a helping hand extended to Lee Moriarty. Kris Statlander continued to win hearts and minds if not matches in the TBS tournament against Ruby Soho. And Cody literally lit himself on fire for our entertainment in the main even against Andrade.
Elsewhere, Miro's room is now milky white (or green?), Wardlow scores a squash, Darby & Sting to try ruin the undefeated run of the Gunn Club, Lio Rush spills his heart to Team Taz, Britt Baker and Adam Cole each get a chance to talk, Tony Nese is there, Penta and PAC send a challenge to FTR, 2point0 give Jericho a TASTE, and Jade Cargill isn't worried about anything.

Dynamite Review 11/24/2021 - The Miz IS Really Famous Though

He was on Dancing With The Stars and everything!
Another episode of AEW Dynamite is upon us and the Sword & Shield are here to tell you all about it.
This week's show opens up with a lengthy meeting between two of the best in the world on the mic, CM Punk and MJF trading references and insults in a rare show-opening promo segment. There's a lot of history and name dropping done up, setting the stage for a rivalry that isn't going to disappoint.
In the ring, Bryan Danielson continued his Dark Order tour by bludgeoning Colt Cabana, leading to a face to face with Hangman Adam Page. Thunder Rosa and Jamie Hayter had a TBS title tournament matchup, Gunn Gunn Father & Son had a tag division match with Bear Country, while Andrade, Malakai Black, and FTR closed the show against Pac, Lucha Brothers, and Cody Rhodes. Plus, Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho both run afoul of 2.0! YOU WANT A TASTE???

Dynamite Review 11/17/2021 - Stoned Pitbulls

Jay Lethal, huh? Well, this was fun while it lasted.
It's time for Wrestling's Only Podcast, the Sword & Shield, The Pillars of Twitch, The New Kings of Wrestling, Josh and Zubes to give you a full review of AEW Dynamite.
It's a celebration of Adam Hangman Page this week, after some Cowboy Shit brought us a new champion. His first act as champ is to be up close and personal with a Bryan Danielson masterclass. Danielson transitions from a great segment to the mic straight to his run through the Dark Order, starting with a match against Evil Uno.
Kenny Omega is taking a break, and the first seeds of Adam Cole / Young Bucks drama is sowed. We also get 2.0 talking with Eddie Kingston, straight into Orange Cassidy tagging with Tomohiro Ishii, and folks, that's a great first 45 minutes of a TV show that happens in real life.
Elsewhere, Nyla Rose and Hikaru Shida have a TBS tournament match, MJF and CM Punk meet face to face, Darby Allin agrees to a match with Billy Gunn, Dante Martin continues to team with Lio Rush against The Acclaimed, and then it's Sammy against Jay Lethal for the TNT belt in the main event.

Dynamite Review 11/10/2021 - Did Somebody Say Okada

We're hearing more and more about Okada on Dynamite.
The Sword & Shield, the New Kings of Wrestling, the A E Double Dudes of Wrestling Brain, Josh and Zubes have a full review of the latest episode of AEW Dynamite and more.
It's the go-home show to Full Gear, and we've got action all over the place. Bryan Danielson opened the show with a full-speed match against Rocky Romero (Okada's friend), American Top Team jumped the Inner Circle, Anna Jay, Tay Conti, and Thunder Rosa battled Britt Baker and her cronies, Jungle Boy took on Anthony Bowens, Wardlow smacked around Wheeler Yuta, Lio Rush and Dante Martin continued their partnership in a match against Lee Moriarty and Matt Sydal, and it was a Zubesbait Classic with Pac taking on Dax Harwood.
Plus, Eddie Kingston and CM Punk have a pull-apart, allowing Zubes to wax poetic about how much Eddie Kinston means to him, and Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page close the show out with a contract signing that doesn't end up with anyone going through a table.
Beat him, Eddie. Beat him for us.

Dynamite Review 11/03/2021 - Aerostar Fan Club

While Josh is away, the fellas will play.
Zubes and Sick Nick are on the job, reviewing the latest AEW Dynamite.
Kenny Omega opens the show with a rematch against Alan Angels, leading to another moment with Hangman Page, FTR defended the AAA tag team titles against Nick's favourite wrestler in the world Aerostar and Samuray Del Sol (you know this guy), Jamie Hayter takes on Anna Jay in the TBS Tournament, Andrade graces us with a singles match against Cody, and in the Main Event Miro subbed into the World Title Eliminator to take on Orange Cassidy.
On the mic, CM Punk did his best work, shouting out our guy Mox while also building a hot program with Eddie Kingston, Miro puts God on the spot, Superkliq and Jungle Express brawl into live action, Paige VanZant and Dan Lambert lead an American Top Team vs Inner Circle promo battle, MJF hits another grand slam in a promo on Darby, and then Johnny Hungie does... uh, something on the mic. Sure!

Dynamite Review 10/27/2021 - The Stay Puft Cowboy

Just like Cody, your pals the A E Double Dudes will never turn on you! Even if you are the Nasty Casties...
The Sword and Shield, the New Kings of Wrestling, the A E Double Dudes of Wrestling Brain, Josh and Zubes have a full review of the latest episode of AEW Dynamite and more.
This week's Dynamite featured a genuine ass-beating by Mox, a breakout tournament performance from Serena Deeb, CM Punk's first match on Wednesday night against Bobby Fish, Sammy Guevara vs Ethan Page for the TNT Title, and a squash match win for MJF.
Cody Rhodes also got a little mic time this week to put on his best Ace Spade impression and promise us he'll never turn heel, leading to more with Malakai Black, Andrade, and PAC. In the main event, the Dark Order create another great Hangman Page moment thanks to some clever costumes and a well staged spot against The Elite.
Plus, in the wake of the news that the entire ROH roster has been made available, there's a four round ROH-themed game of Push, Book, Bury, as we theoretically sort 12 different talent onto the AEW roster.
